Most people who fly to Seoul for a checkup have a fixed return date. The question is rarely "which tests exist" and more often "can I finish everything, understand the results, and still make my flight." The Global Premium Checkup at Kwangdong Hospital was planned around that question.
Three ways to fit a checkup into your stay
There are three options, chosen by how much time you have in Seoul.
| Option | Length | From | What it is built around |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day Check-up | About 4 hours, depart the same day | USD 3,000 | Premium Checkup fast-track, English report the same day |
| One-Night Stay | One night, two days | USD 4,000 | Private VIP room, sedated gastroscopy and colonoscopy, about 50 test items |
| VIP Anti-aging | Planned with you | USD 5,200 | Anti-aging care, support for a companion, remote consultation |
The composition and length can be adjusted after a consultation, and fees can change with the test schedule. Details are confirmed when you book.
What happens, step by step
- Before you fly. You register in your language and fill in a pre-visit questionnaire. The team can help with visa paperwork and invitation letters.
- Arrival. You are met at the airport and taken to a private room in the VIP ward. One coordinator stays with you for the whole visit.
- The checkup. Blood tests, ECG, chest CT and ultrasound of four areas. Bowel preparation happens in your own room, followed by sedated gastroscopy and colonoscopy in the same session.
- Recovery and results. You rest in your room with IV nutrient therapy. The next day a specialist goes through the full English report with you one on one.
- After you go home. Contact continues for a year: the report on D+7, a follow-up call on D+30, a remote consultation on D+90, a check-in on D+180 and rebooking guidance on D+365.
Why one building matters on a short trip
Everything from endoscopy on B2 to imaging on B1 happens inside the same building, and general patients use a separate elevator from checkup patients. On a tight schedule this removes the transfers between clinics that usually eat a day.
The test items themselves are set by a Program Development Board chaired by Hospital Director Sang-Heon Cho, who previously planned and ran the Seoul National University Hospital Gangnam Center. Images are read a second time by a radiology specialist.
